I’m becoming increasingly frantic that we’re nearing the last week of August! How is it possible the summer is almost already behind us?
Last night we went to see the new Woody Allen film “Blue Jasmine” at the Bytowne Cinema. The movie was kind of a depressing commentary on human nature, but even still, I couldn’t help but love it. I love what Woody Allen does with charters and scripts. Just pulls you right into his world.
This weekend we’re doing all the millions of things we’ve been putting off all month (swift, laundry, repeat), and also I’m going on a hunt for Laksa ingredients. I’ve been hankering for this Malaysian soup since I saw it on a rerun of Bourdain’s No Reservations (favourite show on TV, hands down) last winter… seriously looks like just an amazing, amazing concoction of ingredients. He had me hooked when he described it “the weapon’s grade plutonium of soups.” It’s also their breakfast? And I’m really intrigued by all things breakfast. The breakfast project.
The other things?
School starts again in two weeks! I’m looking forward to seeing friends and getting on with this degree, but I’m also nervous for the crazy schedule that will be my Fall.
I’ve been running consistently in the mornings for almost a month now! This is no feat short of amazing for me. I credit Cliff for helping me change my schedule so that I actually get up and moving in the morning.
I’ve been off of Facebook for a month. I thought I would do a little hiatus, just to unplug from what sometimes seems to be an inundation of different streams of consciousness. You know what? I didn’t really miss it.
And lastly I’ll leave you with this I recently realized I didn’t actually know what the word “August” meant:
Adjective: Respected and impressive
Synonyms: stately – grand – majestic – lofty – sublime
Use it in a sentence: She was in August company.
Yes, yes she was!
